Are you famaliar with the hot sauce mom? You know, the mom who used hot sauce and ice cold showers to punish her small (I think 6 or 7 year old son). Oh, your not. Here I'll enlighten you. When her small son got in trouble the mom would pour hot sauce in his mouth, make him hold it in his mouth without spitting it out and then when she deemed it necessary she'd put him in a freezing cold shower. All the while screaming at him. Belittling him. If you watch the video you can hear the sheer fear in this small child. Honestly it makes me sick to watch. It hurts my heart. It makes me really angry. Not only did this mom do this countless times, she went on the D.r. P.H.I.L. show to "get help" and someone made a recording of her doing this. I believe if I had been the one recording I would have slapped the mom across her face and call CPS myself. Anyway, today she was found guilty of child abuse for doing this to her child. Do you agree with the verdict?

a punishment is time out in the corner, or a swift smack on the hand. what she did was torture. it was intended to humiliate as well as hurt the child in order to force him into submission. i absolutely agree with the verdict.
Yes. I do. Didn't one of the girls from The Facts of Life write a book about discipline that revolved around this hot sauce technique? I swear I saw her on some show talking about it. It frightens me what some people will justify doing to children. You have moms that agonize over letting their kids CIO and then you have mothers like this. Makes me crazy.
Oh that woman. She gets sentenced Monday, but from what I read the other day, she's looking at PROBATION. Can you imagine? And the article made it sound like the children weren't removed from the home. So, children, what have we learned? We've learned that you can do whatever you want, just DON'T LET ANYONE SEE IT. This is really horrifying, and I hope she goes to jail and has to have therapy and home visits for years and years to come. And those poor kids need therapy too after all of that. I doubt the one little boy will ever have a bond with her, the twins might really be better off being removed.
I am absolutely disgusted she did not lose custody. First off some corrections - This is her ADOPTED son, not biological child. This is a child she adopted from Russia, whose parents would be rethinking giving him up if they could see what she was doing to him I'm sure. Second the person who filmed it? Her older child. Her other children were watching her torture him. Hearing his screams in the cold shower literally makes me bawl and I wish she'd have every single one of those kids taken away from her!
I am a licensed Social Worker & yes, this 100% constitutes child abuse. I'm happy to hear she was convicted.
