Color me shocked.
So I had my first appt on 4/13. All was perfect. We have one healthy baby hanging out in my uterus with a heart beat of 152. All looks great. That was about the highlight of that appt. Yesterday I went for an elective gender ultrasound at the urging of our families and we found out, very unexpectedly, that we are expecting a GIRL! What in the world am I going to do with a daughter? I'm honest to goodness shocked. I really thought I'd be a mom to 2 boys....I'm thrilled and shocked all at the same time. It still hasn't sunk in. I need to go shopping, I think that will help it become real.

LOL i totally understand how you feel. when i found out my second child was going to be a girl, i freaked. after 5 years of parenting a boy, i had no idea what to do with a girl. the good news is, it's actually a lot of fun! :0) the first thing i did when i found out was go shopping. i let my son pick out something for his sister (he picked some fuzzy pink bunny slippers) and looking at all the utterly adorable little girl things made it all better. :0) congrats!

Exciting! I went through highs and lows when I found out. I thought it was all I wanted to have a daughter, but then I got really sad toward the end of my pregnancy and mourned the fact that I wouldn't be a mom to all boys, but once they placed her in my arms it was pure heaven. Having a little boy AND girl is awesome. And how cool is it that our girls have big brothers??? Congrats, Mandie! SO excited for you!
How exciting is that!!! You will do just fine and she is just going to be gorgeous!!! And D is going to make one amazing big brother!!!

Congratulations Mama! What a true blessing to have one of each. I know you are beyond thrilled to have a healthy little baby! I can remember when we first started the Dec. 08 board and you really wanted a little girl. Now you have the best, a boy and a girl : ) So when is your due date?
OMG wow, a girl! Congratulations! A boy would have been awesome too of course, but it is so much fun having one of each!
How is the pregnancy going? Have you started the nursery or bought all that new girlie stuff yet?? : ) Just wanted to check on ya! Also did you make any progress with the potty training? Aubree has been hit or miss. Some days she does well and some days she throws the BIGGEST fit about sitting on the potty. I don't know what to do about that...I just let her be because I figure that she's just not ready. Anyway, just checking in and I hope everything is going great!
