I just looked at my insurance claim for Dawson and it was over 9,000 to hang out at the hospital for a day and a half and almost 3,000 for the doctor to do the catch! What do people without insurance do? I'm double covered, so I can only imagine what it would cost me out of pocket without both insurances.
In other news, Daniel is back at his part time job today, and me and lil D are just hanging out. It's been a very relaxed day. I'd love to get a shower sometime before 6
tonight, but we're playing it by ear.

Isnt it insane how much a hospital birth costs??? My homebirth was $2600.00 out the door plus $400.00 for the 20 week ultrasound. I do have insurance, but it still was cheaper for me to have my homebirth. I also wonder how people w/o ins. or medicaid afford it.
I know! I about fell over when I looked at the claims...of course it probably cost me 20.00 per motrin and another 100 per IV bag. I could have drank enough water to cover that and bought my own motrin!
Wowzers! We haven't gotten ours yet - I'm anxious to see what we're going to have to pay out-of-pocket. I had a friend who got pregnant in high school but didn't want to use medicaid so she was literally paying off the hospital for some eight years or something!
I looked mine up online...and I was floored...I couldn't imagine having to pay the hospital for that long!
My SIL had to have the vaccuum extractor thing, so her delivery was $17k. Can you imagine a c-section??
It seems like Jennifer ought to get something from the insurance company for saving them all that loot.
