Need Help: Baby Name Edition

When I was pregnant with Dawson we knew what we were going to name the baby prior to finding out the sex. This allowed for me to really connect with the baby once I knew that he was a he and he had a name. Our boy name was Dawson Lee and our girl name was Hannah Kate. Obviously we got our Dawson Lee. Now this time around, on top of stressing out over having 2 and being sick, I have NO idea what names I am even considering for this little one. We aren't 100% sure that we're going to find out what we're having prior to birth, but I still want to have our names set. With D, when I said Dawson both Daniel and I just knew. We knew we loved the name and that if we had a boy that would be his name. Lee is a family name and we knew that would be his middle name. Hannah Kate was just a name we both loved and it felt right at the time. This time around I still love the name Hannah, but I think that chance passed. It just doesn't feel right now. Besides it's a very common name and I'd prefer that my children not be one of 5 whatever's in their class. So I need help!!!

Honestly, not joking, I really like Lola. Our families would hate it! I know they would and while that's not the most important thing I do at least want them to sorta like the name for our child. So that's out.

So HELP!! I'm not opposed to anything except for all the "aiden" names and would prefer something not too unique but not super common either. I need boy ideas and girl ideas....

Thank you in advance :)

if i had the chance to name another child, i'd probably name a boy Gannon and a girl Alice. :) i haven't thought much beyond that, since we aren't having any more kids.

I like the name Lola! We really like Gabriel for a boy or Gabriella for a girl but those might be more common then you are looking for. I also LOVE Maeve for a girl! GL and I can't wait to hear what you decide on!

Jessica-I really like Gannon and Alice could be a contender since I really like the nickname Allie but think Allison is too common!! Thanks :)

Erin, I have a niece with the middle name Gabrielle so I couldn't do that, but I actually do like both names.

I love Lola. We considered Lola but obviously never had a girl! If we have another (not ruled out!) a boy would be Gabriel James and a girl would be either Hazel, Charlotte, Adeline or Heike.

Erin-I love your boys names! And your girl names that you haven't had a chance to use yet :)

Lola was my dog's name, so I'm not partial to it as a child's name, but I love names ... And we aren't having anymore so I have to keep contributing to other peoples' name conversations! My sons are Spencer and Henry, so obviously I love those names. For boys I like Oliver, Samuel, Jeremy, Jude, Harrison (Harry), Maxwell. For girls I like Caroline, Claire,

Adalyn was either Adalyn or Lola. We sat there for an hour after she was born going back and forth between Adalyn and Lola. I ultimately chose Adalyn because my mom expressed such hatred for Lola. About a month after she was born, I really regretted choosing Adalyn over Lola, especially just because of what my mom thought. Besides, just because they don't like a name before they KNOW your child doesn't mean they'll even think about it down the road. Once a kid is named, he or she is named and they really become their name. A year down the road no one in your family would dislike your child's name. Promise. :)

Now that my Adalyn IS Adalyn and those fleeting feelings of regret have passed, I can't imagine her being anything else. Go with YOUR gut!

Oh, and just for kicks & giggles, our final name contender list included:

Charlotte
Lola
Adalyn (duh)
Lexie (Alexis)

Some others we ruled out before but I still love:

Macy
Stella
Sadie
Audrey/Aubrey

Good luck! Naming babies is so fun!
