We have a similar issue - took my son to the doctor for a persistent cough and found he had a double ear infection and sinusitis. So they put him on an antibiotic. Two weeks later we went back again because the cough got worse, and now he's on steroids and another antibiotic. Thankfully the ear infections are looking a little better, but the cough is still going! Hate when little ones get sick!
Take it from someone who knows.... get the referral ASAP if this doesn't help. I waited on my own ear infections and paid the painful price of a perforated eardrum. Hope it all works out quickly. It stinks when our little guys are sick. Glad to see your updates again!
